Hello everyone,
So I just started my weight loss journey and for the most part I am doing great. I’m starting mostly with eating healthy and just getting 10000 steps in everyday to get myself motivated. This has helped immensely because even on my lazy days I can just walk around the neighborhood listening to audiobooks with my dog and I reach my goal. It’s only been a week but this has been a very successful week so far.
Unfortunately, I am addicted to chocolate. And when I say addicted, I mean I can keep eating it until I am literally sick. If it were up to me I’d just survive on chocolate and nothing else. So the one thing I decided to give up was chocolate... it was hard, but I haven’t had any since last Thursday and I feel great.
Cravings hit yesterday and I was basically shaky, nauseous, heart was racing, had a splitting headache - which for me is fairly common when I don’t eat chocolate for about 3-4 days. However I realized this was 10x worse yesterday. Today I got my period so that explains why it was 10x worse and now add cramps to that.
Now I’m in bed, working from home, and oh my god I need chocolate. With normal craving and ickiness I can handle it, but paired with PMS I don’t know if I can. It is taking literally EVERY ounce of self control to not just go to a store and get chocolate. Thankfully there aren’t any in the house.
I HAVE to quit chocolate cold turkey because I have NO self control whatsoever when it comes to them. One piece will soon turn into me driving to a gas station at 3 in the morning to buy their entire shelf of chocolates.
Any suggestion or advice on how to stay strong and build discipline so I don’t eat chocolate. Or even if I do, only eat 1 piece. And how to motivate myself, especially during my period.
