Hi! I’m new to this forum, I learned about it from a podcast. I’m glad I found it because I’ve been looking for a group to connect to related to this topic. I’ve always been a little overweight but over the last year during COVID I’ve gained 15-20lbs on top of my already-slightly-overweight state. My parents are both overweight (one of them has been obese my whole life) and I’m worried with this recent weight gain that I’m on track to follow in their footsteps. I don’t care as much about looks, but I am very bothered that I don’t have as much energy as I used to, and also that my clothes no longer fit. I’ve tried intermittent fasting, which worked, but then I learned that skipping breakfast is associated with health problems. So I stopped that. I was counting calories, but staying within the recommended amount for weight loss left me hungry and grouchy, and tired. So now, I’m just trying to eat lots of fruits, vegetables and mostly a plant-based diet, and having a treat maybe once a week. I’m starting to try to meet my step goal (so hard when working from home!) and so taking lots of walks.
