How to beat a sugar addiction: tips?

I was doing great with my recent weight loss attempt — CICO, eating better, exercising — until then I wasn’t. I’ve gained 8 pounds back of 13 I had recently lost (SW: 199, CW: 194 - recently 186 - GW: 144).

I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to sugar, and I’m pretty sure it’s the biggest obstacle to my effectively losing weight and keeping it off over time.

I’ve tried cutting out sugar entirely, which works well until I basically binge. I’ve tried moderation, but the amount creeps up over time.

Have you figured out how to deal with your own addiction to sugar? What finally worked for you? Maybe what worked for someone here who’s been in the same boat might work for me, or someone else reading.
