This might be a dumb question, bear with me. The logic makes sense in my head but I know there’s a lot more science that goes into weight loss, so I’m coming to you.
My current calorie limit is 1200 per day. I always make sure to have less than 100 calories left over at the end of the day, so I eat at least 1100. It’s been working for me and it’s not too hard for me to maintain, so I’ve kept it up. I know that it is understood that eating less than 1200 is too little, so here is my question.
When you eat “too little”, your body goes into starvation mode and tries to prevent you from burning fat, right? So if I ate more, say just above the limit at 1250, would I actually lose more weight? Since I’m slightly over the line? Can I eat more to lose more in this case?
Please be nice to me, my weight loss journey is still young!
