SV: I couldn't lose weight for years and finally figured out why (F, 5'3", CW:250 SW: 271)

I have tried everything. We'll almost everything. Low carb, fasting, vegetables and fruits only, keto, and almost every weight loss pill/fad out there and nothing was working. For the past 6 months I was barely eating and most of the time not even doing 1200 calories in a day. People never believed me when I told them I wasn't eating a lot and I felt very depressed. However, I recently went to a health specialist and we went over everything. What I ate, if I exercised, how much, and how much water I drank. Apparently just counting calories don't work, even if you stay low. These past 4 weeks I've been making sure to eat something every 2-3 hours, drink lots of water, and walk at least 5000 steps a day (recently had 2 foot surgeries). I'm not staying away from anything so I don't have the munchies and I've found just a little piece of chocolate can sometimes help a lot. I have gone over my calories almost every weekend by doing 1600 instead of the 1300 and it didn't affect my loss a whole lot. I've lost 20 lbs in one month! I finally not only feel a difference but I can see it as well and I am so happy. Hopefully this don't slow down my weight loss anytime soon because I have so much to lose. I'm just feeling a little more positive right now. :)
