Getting a dog unexpectedly jumpstarted my 3rd weight loss journey

Note: I do not recommend getting a dog in an attempt to replicate this, only if your really committed to exercise with them

After two failed attempts at weight loss, one ending at -30 and one ending at -10 (both all regained) I was pretty down and mopey for a few months.

Eventually the time came in my life to move out and I decided shortly thereafter to adopt a rescue a dog, something that I have been wanting to do since my childhood one passed years ago. At the shelter I met a Australian Cattle Dog Mix who I instantly fell clicked with. She was one of the few viable dogs their due to breeding restrictions so I decided to go ahead and adopt her.

Unfortunately I later learned that the Australian Cattle Dog is not the dog breed for people of my size and somewhat apartment living. Not willing to give up, I have started walking at least 2 miles a day if not more to satisfy her energy needs alongside fetch and other things.

Without realizing it, within 4 days I have dropped 10 pounds and im dropping nearly a pound a day at least right now (ignore flair it's old). I don't have scale here, but when I have access to one I will update. I think I've dropped around 15 pounds as of today.

Among other things, I didn't realize just how nice a morning walk could be, and how nice it is to have a companion again.

I've walked more im this past week than the past year combined, combine with me cutting out all junk food things are looking up.
