Lifestyle change and not diet

The most valuable thing I’ve learnt while being a long time lurker on this sub is “it’s a lifestyle change not a diet”. Once I mentally changed my view on food and exercise, my relationship got better with both of them and 8 months into my lifestyle change I haven’t been discouraged- I’m not going to say ‘yet’ because I want to keep the positivity within my journey.

For the first time in 24 years, I feel like I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and not in a months time I will be back drinking 2 litres of coke, endless crisps, cookies, chocolate etc and thinking what’s the point even trying.

I began at 212lbs and my current bump in the road is being stuck on 182 lbs for the last two weeks. I’ve genuinely surprised myself that I haven’t decided to give up, in fact I’m pushing myself harder. Everyday I’m learning something new about myself and I like this new person I’ve become.

My motivation has heightened more than ever because people are noticing my weight loss! I went holiday shopping last week and I decided to try on a size 14 instead of my usual 16/18...and there was still plenty of room!

My overall lesson I’ve learnt so far is never go off the scale, go off your dress size.
