Since May, 2020, I've lost about 55lbs. I made a lot of changes, including walking more, getting more exercise through online classes, etc. I also changed the way I eat--I started tracking, but actually lost the most amount of weight not tracking, but just being mindful of what I was eating. Additional context, I'm a super-taster--which sounds fake, but is real--in which veggies, dark chocolate, wines, etc. are incredibly bitter, so eating veggies has always been a struggle.
Fast forward to today, and for the last 3 months, I've been up and down, and I am about the same (down. 0.1 lbs in 3 months, down 5.0 lbs in 6 months). I'm feeling really stuck, and I'm not sure how to rev up the weight loss engine. I would really appreciate any, and all advice folks have around breaking through plateaus.
Things I've tried thus far:
- Tracking calories--but in a weird way I tend to lose more when I don't track. It's weird I know.
- Exercising a lot more--I worked with a virtual trainer, but it was hard on my joints. I haven't really tried weight training.
- Restricting carbs--challenging for me, and I tend to crave them after a week or so of restriction.
Thank you all so much!
