I’m all for tracking what you eat. Putting in writing every single thing you put in your body is a huge help for weight loss. And eating something and then entering it into the app and seeing just how many calories are in it is a big eye opener. But weight loss shouldn’t be about adding up calories all day. It should be about making healthier choices.
Tracking calories is stressful! If you use up all the calories you’ve allotted yourself and you find yourself hungry later, then what? You don’t eat? No. That’s unhealthy. If your body is hungry you should feed it. Starving yourself can be detrimental to weight loss, not only because of the likelihood of then bingeing but it messes up your metabolism. The goal is to learn what the right kinds of food you should be eating are.
And exercise is IMPORTANT. I’m not saying you need to go to the gym every day but you should be moving regularly. It’s downplayed a lot around here.
CICO might help you lose the weight but healthy eating and exercise is what keeps it off. And that is what it’s all about.
