Question about my diet and weight loss

Hi there,

I am a 228 pound, 30 year old male. I clearly need to get some weight loss since I am only about 5'7. I started dieting on April 26. Now I know it hasn't been long. I also have been lifting every day to try to get stronger. I have a gorilla bow and usually pick 2 muscle groups to work a day and then work my core via planking/crunches everyday. I have lifted everyday since the 26th. I also get steps in everyday, a minimum of 6k.

As far as dieting, I have cut out a lot of sweets and watch calories. I am eating at a calorie deficit for sure and during the end of the first week... I lost about 7 pounds, but I assume a lot of that is water weight. Now... doing the same thing I am at a standstill already. I have no idea why that is. Is it because I am building muscle mass? Or am I doing something wrong?

Edit - in the past I have done keto and nutrisystem, and I lost weight fast with those but never worked out during them so I am very confused.
