I really struggle as a 6 foot tall woman to feel motivated to keep going with weight loss because it feels like I can never get an accurate estimate of how much weight im losing or trust the scale. What I mean is, I feel like my weight fluctuates so much during the month, especially based on hormones and my cycle. I can easily gain 5lb leading up to my cycle and then overnight toward the end of my cycle, lose 3 lb overnight. So I can weigh myself at the end of the week and have “lost” one pound, and then the next week do nothing different—literally everything the same—and have GAINED 2 lb. I get really discouraged and feel like I haven’t made any progress, and then even when the scale says I’ve lost weight, I don’t trust it and therefore never actually feel encouraged.
I guess im wondering, for those who were successful with weight loss and maintenance, how much weight did you lose per week, and how often did you weigh yourself? Particularly wondering about women and any patterns of weight loss you noticed based on your monthly cycle. I want to get out of the pattern im in but don’t know how to do that.
Edit- similar issue happens with measurements although less than weight
