Started my weight loss journey last April.
Male, 29yo, 6,1”, starting weight of 245.
Was always skinny as a teen and in my young twenties. Started experiencing that food was sticking to me different after I turned 25. Fast forward to age 28, wife got pregnant and I ate right along with her through the whole time. Only thing is she stayed skinny while growing a baby bump.
So after the nine months, son being born in December, and the first 4 stressful months of first time fatherhood, I ballooned to 245. I felt like shit, was the most out of shape I have ever been in my life.
Decided to change it! Started with only diet for the first 9 months. I did a mix of OMAD when it felt right and CICO. Kept it to about 1,800 calories a day.
By the end of last year I successfully worked down to 205 lbs. but I noticed results were slowing and I wasn’t losing but just constantly fluctuating between 203-210.
January this year I started working out. Combination of weightlifting and cardio. Stared at 3X week. Results came quickly in my body composition. Now I am up to 5-6X workouts per week about 60 minutes per workout. It’s a mix of 40 minute resistance training and a 20 minute HIIT cardio routine or a 20 minute resistance “maintenance” training followed by 40 minute endurance cardio.
I am now down to 190 lbs!!! But the best part is my man boobs are gone and have some pec definition, My arms are toned, and my 34” waist pants fit again!!!!!
Anyone can do it if you put in the effort and are determined to change.
As I continue to gain some muscle I know my weight loss will slow down. I’m hoping to be about 180 by the end of the year through various cuts and bulk phases so I finally have a body I’m proud of!
