PMS induced plateau?

Hey everyone,

I’m a longtime lurker and first time poster, I want to start by saying this thread has been very helpful for my weight loss journey — so thank you!

Just a little background information I weighed 130 pounds before the covid lockdown, but was not satisfied with my weight. During covid I gained about 8 pounds bringing me to 138. That is when I decided to take action do CICO and do cardio 5 times a week (just walking/running).

The first month I had great success and was able to lose the 8 pounds. But now I am finding I have plateaued at 130. It has only been about a week and a half but I am starting to get discouraged (which I know is unreasonable).

I realized my period due in 5 days and was wondering if that could be a factor? I’ve seen many posts about women gaining weight prior, but not about anyone having trouble losing the weight. I am weighing myself at the same time everyday (morning on an empty stomach).

I am 26, 5’2 and consume about 1000-1200 calories a day. I do about an hour of cardio 5-7 days a week. On the days I do go over my allotted amount of calories I would say I consume 1500 calories.

Please let me know if I should make any changes or if I am on the right track and should also learn how to exercise my patience. Any advice is appreciated!

TLDR: can PMS prevent you from losing weight?
