I don’t understand weight loss

Hi everyone,

My journey began on August 6, 2019. Since then, I (25F, 5’2”) have gone from 251.4 to 234.4, a 17 pound loss with CICO alone. Here are some of my big concerns:

  1. I don’t notice it visually, and I don’t think anyone around me does, either.
  2. In the past 7 months, I’ve probably only gone OVER my TDEE 3-4 times. Otherwise, I’ve tracked in myfitnesspal every single day and been under every time, even if just by 10 calories (but usually within my ~500 cal deficit, give or take human calculation error that brings my weight loss average to 0.6 pounds per week).
  3. I weigh myself every day, but I only ever record my lowest weight when I hit it. The thing that confuses me the most is the day to day - for example, I was 234.4 yesterday. I weighed myself at the same time this morning and was 238.8. Could THAT MUCH be water weight, especially when I only ate 1500 cals yesterday?!

How could my weight fluctuate so much from day to day, and what is the truth? I don’t think its a possibility that I’m gaining given the numbers/data I see every day, but what the heck is happening in my body?
