I’m a shift worker, have struggled for a while in losing (read/:have just been gaining)

TL;DR: I still like to pretend I’m 20 and can eat 4 cheeseburgers a day while losing weight. Finally had enough, please give me your best advice/recipes/stories....

So I started about 2-3 weeks ago with IF... have so far been trying to stick to a 10 hour day as I work 7am-7pm or 7pm to 7am. I try to do 8 hours on my day off.

This weight loss thing seems to be an ongoing struggle. I’m about 5’8 at 193lbs, 28 year old female. I’ve tried so many different ways and nothing seems to work - or rather, I guess taking responsibility, I can’t stick to it. I’m actually very upset about it as I am usually great at acting to get what I want. I am smart and confident, have a good job and home life - what is my problem with food?!

I think I’ve finally had enough. I’m done being too hot in summer. I’m done being out of breath playing with my dogs. I’m done turning down invites to things because I worry what I’ll wear or if I’ll be “the fat one”. I think I’ve finally hit my breaking point.

My parents always made boxed things for dinner as I was growing up and I feel like I need to learn to love cooking - I always want easy things to make, which usually results in high cal. But cooking bores me... I want food fast and simple - which is why lately I’ve fallen in love with a snack dinner of turkey, strawberries, cheese, and turkey pepperettes.

My plan is to calorie count on MFP and get more familiar with foods and what I’m putting in my body. I also know I need to drink less as my boyfriend and I do indulge often (thanks shift work for letting me drink on a Tuesday afternoon). And I guess from my weight and what I eat my tolerance is high resulting in more drinks. Why do I find this the hardest thing to give up.... take my cheese, pasta, meat.... but leave my forty creek!! Haha.

Anyway, the point of all this is just to ask - what tips, tricks, books, websites, recipes, anything... helped you stay on track? I need all the help I can get... I really need it to stick and work this time.

I’m so sorry for this being so long. Once I started it just spewed out!! Thank you in advance, and again I’m new so I’m sorry if I’m not good at replies right away!!
