I'm 22F, started at 240 lbs, now at 197 lbs. My periods are usually pretty light. The cramps suck, but the bleeding was no big deal. I'd bleed a normal-ish amount for the first day or two, then spot for another day or two. Over in three days usually, sometimes four. I wouldn't have to change my pad more than twice a day, usually once in the morning and once at night, and even then it was because it'd feel gross to wear one for longer than that, not because it was full and couldn't hold any more blood.
This month is different. I've had to change my pad or tampon every 2 hours, and even then I still leak everywhere. I'm on day 4 and while the bleeding is slowing down, it's still heavier than usual. My cramps have gotten better, which is nice. They used to leave me in bed in too much pain to move or think about anything else, but that hasn't happened in months. But I could really live without the heavier flow. I know it's probably because of the weight loss, but will my body learn to chill and go back to normal on its own eventually, or is it a thing I'd need to consider birth control to fix? If it matters, I put on the weight pretty quickly, and they were pretty light before that, when I was at a normal weight.
