If you didn't see last weeks post, I linked it above. I don't know if I plan on doing this every week (I'm thinking about switching to every other week) but for now I'm excited and want to share some updates. I posted today's weigh-in results in the table below.
Everything has continued to go well for the most part. I had a cheat day on Friday and Saturday, drank a lot of beer on both of those days, and then I had Thai rolled ice cream a couple days ago but despite it all, I still managed to make good progress. If I am being honest, I can't continue to do that if I want to successful. I only have 43 weeks until the wedding day so every calorie counts. Other than that, my diet has been on point and I'm eating plenty of healthy meats and vegetables, getting a good amount of fat in my diet, drinking a lot of water, and avoiding added sugar. I haven't had too many cravings and I have a lot more energy.
I have not been lifting weights, stretching, or running and I am only getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night. This needs to improve but I have been lazy.
Some of my coworkers approached me and asked if I wanted in on a weight loss challenge that will run through Thanksgiving. We all put in $20 and I plan on taking everybody's cash right before the holidays start. I have a mean competitive streak so this is good and provides me with even more motivation.
Over the course of the last few years, I developed a very unhealthy fixation with my bathroom scale and would weigh myself multiple times per day. Well, this week, a good thing happened and the scale finally broke for good and I do not plan on buying another one. I feel so much better not constantly thinking about the number on the scale and I feel freedom. :)
I also found a new calorie and macro tracking app so I can ditch MyFitnessPal for good. it's called "Macros - calculate your Diet" and i have it on IOS but my brother in law says he has it on his android. It's a lot cleaner and simpler than MFP but it's library of foods is smaller. I'm actually OK with that because it allows me to some quality control on what I enter.
Waist-to-hip ratio has improved enough in 3.5 weeks that i am no longer considered "very high risk".
*I have been measuring my chest incorrectly with my arms up instead of down by my side. The number inside the parenthesis is with my arms up so progress could be determined. Will probably just measure with my arms down from now on.
