I’m 44m 5’11” 236 lbs. To make a long story short, I’ve gained 30 lbs in the past two years, and I wasn’t exactly slim then. But I remember the moment I decided to put my weight and fitness in hold.
Well time is up. Last month I decided to start by quitting alcohol. I figured I could never lose weight if I was drinking 5 beers a day.
That had been going pretty well and I feel confident about my sobriety, but I had a health scare. I wasn’t feeling great and my blood pressure had reached insane levels, which is forcing me to advance my weight loss plan.
So here I am day one. In some ways this might be more difficult than quitting drinking, because you can just quit alcohol and get immediate benefits. It isn’t possible to quit food. Plus it takes much longer to see results.
But I’m in. Installed a calorie counting app. I have no other choice. I’m hoping to get to 206 by birthday on March 20
