I’m addicted to sweets and it’s really making it difficult for me to lose weight.

Sorry for any formatting errors, I’m on mobile. I’m a 5’3, 141 lbs, 21 year old female. I started my weight loss journey at 152 lbs. Nothing worked for me at first, as I have hypothyroidism, but I came across the keto diet and decided to give it a shot. I lost about 7 pounds in just a week and a half. This was huge for me, as nothing else has ever worked. I had a cheat day and didn’t gain any weight back, so I decided that maybe I should just stay off keto, maybe my metabolism wasn’t as sluggish anymore. Luckily, I kept the weight off, but I have been losing and gaining two pounds weekly ever since then (it’s been about three months). I’ve realized the source of my problem is sugar. Im addicted to sweets and have come to the conclusion that I always break my diets because of my sugar craving. I don’t know why this is, I’m sure if I were able to give up sugar that I’d be losing weight so easily, yet it is coming off so slowly despite what I do. I tried working out and counting calories, but I always dedicated at least 200 calories to some sort of sweet treat, however I didn’t think it would be an issue since I was still at a caloric deficit. It seems that there’s nothing else I can do to get rid of these last 10 pounds other than cutting out sugar, but I can’t do it. Im literally addicted. I crave it all the time. Does anyone know how to kick this habit or why I even have this habit to begin with? Living with my boyfriend now, I’ve realized that always wanting sugar isn’t a common thing. Up til now, I thought it was normal but I’m learning that it’s not. I do have hypothyroidism and my insulin levels have always been in the prediabetic range, however I am not diabetic. I asked my doctor if I was insulin resistant, as I had the symptoms that correspond with it, but she assured me that I do not. So I have no idea where these cravings are coming from.

Edit: I also tried keto again a few weeks ago, and I only lost one pound in a full two weeks so i felt that it stopped working for me for some reason. When I do keto, I satisfy my sugar cravings by eating Atkin’s chocolate that are extremely low in carbs.
