I am just curious to hear from people about family/friends/society's reaction to your weight gain or loss? I always hear about how you are treated better when you look good and I believe it. When I lost weight before and when my acne cleared up or even days where I have a stylish outfit on, I noticed how I was treated with positivity and respect.
But when I gained it back (and more) and my acne due to PCOS began to officially flare up worse than ever, I noticed how people are very dismissive and rude at times. I remember one night out, a group of guys walked past my friends and shouted out in the air "FAT!" not directly at me but near us and realistically I was the only heavy one there. I never felt so embarrassed and shocked that this stranger would humiliate me in front of my friends.
I have had people stare at me and give dirty looks to me. Nobody is really interested in talking to me, guys are very aloof if they are stuck talking to me for whatever reason. I always feel unwelcome going into shops, maybe because of how I look that they find me suspicious as it doesn't help that I feel very nervous and self-conscious going to places with looking the way I am now. I could give more examples but I am too fatigued at the moment, so I'll end it here.
Just wanted to know if anyone has any stories themselves over people's perception of them when they gained or lost weight.
