First the human side of this: I’ve seen a handful of people online over the years say that they lose the weight best when they do CICO and make room for all their processed favorites. And sure, if eating 1200 calories of cheese curls and twinkies works for you, that’s fine. Good for you! You live your best life.
But I am not the only one who doesn’t feel her best and doesn’t lose weight when processed foods are around. They’re so hard to eat in limited quantities (and many are designed so that you keep eating / buying them). They don’t fit into my calorie goals. And they make me feel like shit. I grew up in a house with weight loss shakes and microwave dinners with “low calories.” They tasted funny and they never left me satiated. When I was at my heaviest, I drank a ton of Coke Zero, and I would get these nightmarish headaches and would be insanely irritable. I just ate M&M’s and pretzels for the first time in years last night, and this morning I legit feel hungover. I feel worse than if I had had a glass of wine or an edible. And for what?
Full disclosure that I’m salty because I’m subscribed to a couple subs for calorie counting that get hit with native advertising CONSTANTLY from these mega corporations for insanely processed foods that will “fit your calorie goal” but will probably fuck your health up long term (and taste like shit in the short term tbh), and it’s driving me crazy.
Anyone else in this boat?
