I do a lot of walking (9km/day weather permitting) for fitness (not weight loss). Recently I switched from my winter hiking boots, which were purchased in December, so my summer hiking shoes which I bought about a year and 45 pounds ago). After a few walks my feet hurt like hell, which is not normal.
It seems to me all my shoes, including my hiking shoes, are really "loose" now. My toes are in the same place by I can, for example, curl my toes in them. My shoes are usually extra-wide and it occurred to me that maybe my feet got smaller as I lost weight and are now too big for me.
Does this make any sense? I'm used to replacing my shirts, pants, belts, etc., but I always thought of shoe size and hand size as pretty constant things.
Has anybody else who has lost a lot notice that they needed smaller shoes?
