Weight loss after trauma!

Today starts my first day back from an over six month break on my weight loss journey. One year ago I was pushing 190pounds (I’m 5’3” btw), and after a breast reduction procedure in May of 2019, I decided it was time for me to lose weight. I started on WW, which I know many have problems with, but I found the app accessible and good at holding me accountable. I got down to about 170 by September of last year.

Today, I start back at 168pounds and am ready to work! My goal is 130 by the end of year. I’m posting this for accountability and also in the hopes anyone may be down to talk more about weight loss after trauma. I gained about 40+ pounds after sexual trauma I experienced in college. I stopped working so hard at losing weight last year when my mental health took a dive. I’m back on the mental health wagon now though, and ready to work!

Weight loss, at times, is difficult when eating was your only coping mechanism through difficult times. If anyone would like to talk more about weight loss after trauma please reach out! :) thanks!
